**Be sure to read this entire post about the 2022 Lifegiving Home Challenge. There’s some exciting news at the very end!**
We are already almost a week into 2022! As they say: Time waits for no one! Well, I’m here for it. If you haven’t heard yet, I’m hosting a challenge for this year! It’s called The 2022 Lifegiving Home Challenge.
The First Time Around
In 2017, my family and I transplanted to an apartment in the Middle East. I had never been a stay at home mom and had a new teenage daughter to boot. We were trying to spend as little as possible on our furnishings since we knew it was temporary and I felt like I had a mission in life to be homeschool, hospitable mom-extraordinaire, but I didn’t know how to manage a household.
An Overwhelming Task
The task was overwhelming to me and I do a couple of things when I’m overwhelmed. I shut down and I read. Thankfully, God lead me to the book, The Lifegiving Home, by Sally Clarkson. It gave me wind in my sails and helped me to focus on a godly vision for what I wanted my home to actually be.
Some years have passed since I first read the book and a lot has happened in the world; Covid, Politics, Riots, Wars, Rumors of Wars. You know, you were there. A truth that has really hit home with me is that the world needs change. I’m only one person, but if I want to change the world, I can start in my home, and so can you.
The Second Time Around
So, here we are, 5 years later, in a new home in South Carolina. We renovated our house and are trying to put everything back together and establish our new life here. I decided to re-read Sally’s book for this new season of life and thought that it would be really beneficial to work through it with some friends and since I recently started blogging, what better thing than to read it with my blogging community?!
This book is all about creating a home environment and establishing routines and rituals to give life and structure to your home’s inhabitants. The first time I read through it, I pretty much copied the whole thing down taking notes. I didn’t want to miss a thing and I was so excited to try EVERYTHING!
Life is Better in Community
Well, we all know how realistic that is. That’s why I’m here now, to read it again and learn from other people who are working to create godly, thriving home environments as well.
So, what do you think? Is this something that your home could benefit from? Are you ready to change the world? The challenge couldn’t be simpler. All you have to do is take a year to read the book, whether you buy, borrow (but don’t steal!) it, try something new every month and join the conversation in our FB Group.
If you finish the challenge, you get a prize! The prize is, if you’ve done it earnestly and with a heart submitted to God, a fresh, thriving home environment, not perfect, but definitely improved, and maybe, just maybe, some new friends.
Are you in?
So, let me know, will you join me in reading this book? Leave a comment below so I know to look for you! To join the FB Group, click here, and be sure to grab this handy checklist to keep you on track.
You can also sign up here for our twice a month newsletter. This challenge is being hosted by a number of other bloggers and youtubers as well who will offer their own unique perspectives on what God is teaching them through this challenge. They will share what what is working for them, offer some tips and ideas to help you improve your own home environment. And most importantly, we are here for YOU! Let us know how we can pray for you, support you and cheer you along! Life is better with others.

Sarah Kennedy
I’m so excited to be working with these ladies on the 2022 Lifegiving Home Challenge and getting to know them better along with you. They love God and are working hard to make not only their homes, but their internet spaces as well, lifegiving, God glorifying and uplifting! I should also add, Sally Clarkson has a wonderful blog herself at sallyclarkson.com that she posts in regularly that has some wonderful information. What better place to glean wisdom from than the author herself- a master homemaker?!
And lastly, we will be having monthly FB Live meetups to discuss the current month’s chapter in the book. You’ll need to be in our FB group to watch it live. It is sure to be a fun time!
That’s all I have for you today, let me know if you have any questions in the comment section and let me know if you’ll be joining me. I truly am so excited about this year and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!
Keep Dreaming!
Ashley
