My name is Ashley. With 36 years on this planet, I’m a former teacher, home cook extraordinaire (so say my kids), gardening enthusiast, artist, writer, follower of Jesus and a mom. I proudly claim 2 wild and amazing little boys and an incredible bonus 20 year old daughter. I am also married to Chuck who is literally the coolest teacher in the State. Just ask his Middle School students.
We are all infected with the travel bug, but are happy to once again find ourselves home in the foothills of Upstate South Carolina. Just recently, we cooled our jets a year ago after dragging our kids all over the world. We went on an epic 4 year adventure overseas.
We lived in the United Arab Emirates and took full advantage of our location. Our travels took us to Zanzibar Tanzania, Oman, The Country of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Finland, Estonia, England, Scotland, Amsterdam, Canada and Ireland.
Despite my taste for adventure and travel, there truly is no place like home. I’ve found myself in some sticky situations over the years, but with God’s help I’ve been able to turn it into something sweet. Coming home has been sweet. I’m thrilled to put in some roots and create a place that will nurture and ground my family.
On this blog you will find stories, recipes, gardening information, home DIYs and other interesting things. I have a passion for abundant living despite life’s current circumstances. This blog is about making the best of what you have. Its about taking what is lost and forgotten and turning it into something lovely and useful. Much like what God is doing with me. Come join me on this journey and lets find some beautiful flowers in those weeds.
